    I may write about a research paper I did my senior year in high school. I argued that Amir, the main character of "The Kite Runner", suffered from a Major Depressive Disorder after he seen his step brother/servant sexually abused and never did anything about it.  He showed many actions MDD symptoms throughout his life until he rescued his nephew from a group of rebels called The Taliban in return for all the damage he's done for not helping his servant/brother. He was held captive after his parents were murdered in front of him.
    The pros for this topic are the abundant supporting ideas that makes the character fall in the disorder. I was very confident with this topic and is by far the best paper I have written. Although I don't think it falls under the  Literacy Narrative category. It's more of an Argument essay.
    Another topic I can write about is the trouble I go through trying to start introductions in my essays. It takes me about half an hour to start the first sentence and usually I end up changing it. I find it very difficult to write a catchy sentence without trying to be a little corny or to relate to my essay. I can agree it's the main sentence I don't feel so confident about out of the essay. I read articles on the "Red Eye" thinking how do these authors do it? Do they go through the trouble too?
     The pro for this topic is the fact that it falls under the Literacy Narrative category. I can possibly get some feed back from the audience on how to start an introduction and use the extra time watching my favorite show. Since I wouldn't get feed back after the essay is done, I don't feel very comfortable writing about a weakness.
    Another topic can be about writing in cursive. I recently discovered that most of my friends don't know how to write in cursive. I was absolutely shocked. I learned how to write in cursive in third grade and in one day. I recall that day I was shown the alphabet in cursive form and right away I was assigned homework to write a paragraph. Instead of doing homework I hung out with friends and when I remembered I had homework I panicked because I had forgotten since I only had one day to learn. I turned to my mom and I have to say I learned how to write in cursive in about three hours. It amazes me how many people don't bother to try to learn how to write cursive.
      The good things about this topic is that it has a problem and a solution and definitely a literacy narrative. I think this topic can stop a reader and make them think how they learned to write and if they can relate to it and that's one goal I try to accomplish when writing narratives. One thing I dislike about this topic is that it's to child-ish as. I think the topic is not to interesting to an adult and my goal is to give interest to any age group.

     
     
   
   

Blog 1

Completing High school does not always mean you are a successful writer. Many high school graduates still write at a low level, that is why English 101 is required. Personally, I am more than glad that it is mandatory, being one of the many graduates that still needs assistance to write essays at a college level. With so much technology use, we often write simple that we get use to it. That's when we scribble. Not many people remember the skills needed for a decent paper either. Same goes for our vocabulary. We don't try to use sophisticated words or even try to learn new words. A required english class helps us become better writers than we were before we took the class as well as extend our vocabulary. I am taking english 101 because, in my opinion,  I don't have a college level vocabulary. I have trouble reading articles in newspapers, books, etc. all because I always have to stop and look up a word. Not only my vocabulary is low but my essays are horrible. My organization is not always correct and my grammar is also in NEED of help. I don't expect to be the greatest writer after this semester but I do want to see improvement. Becoming a good writer is not an option if you want to succeed in life. I want to write essays good enough a person that reads it can think I'm successful and someone in life but most importantly for my future. Nothing is perfect but why not try to make it?
